Born and raised in the Gold Coast region of Australia, Michael Smallbone is the founding attorney of Smallbone Law. Since his own immigrant journey in the United States initiated in late 1990s, Michael Smallbone has been serving the immigrant community in Tennessee and all over the world for over two decades. His practice areas cover immigration law, business law, intellectual property law, entertainment law, and various general civil and criminal cases.

His expertise in all aspects of immigration law, the passion for continued learning, and the collegiality toward clients and peers, have earned him a sterling reputation in the legal community in the middle Tennessee.  In 2017, Michael Smallbone was invited to serve as an adjunct professor at the Nashville Law School in Tennessee. He has been teaching the immigration law course since then.

Before practicing law, Michael Smallbone worked as the vice president of Premiere Speakers Bureau. His prior work experience has brought him to many different countries and cultures. He has worked and lived in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou in China for several years.

Michael Smallbone has lived and invested in Tennessee for more than 30 years. He and his wife and four lovely children are enjoying the unique charm of the prosperous yet peaceful country music capital. In addition to practice law and talent agent, Michael Smallbone is also a professional drummer and ski enthusiast.
