Born and raised in the Gold Coast region of Australia, Michael Smallbone is the founding attorney of Smallbone Law. Since his own immigrant journey in the United States in the early 2000s, Michael Smallbone has been serving the immigrant community in Tennessee and across the US for over two decades. His practice areas cover immigration law, business law, intellectual property law, entertainment law, and various general civil and criminal cases.

Michael Smallbone’s expertise in all aspects of immigration law, passions for continued learning, equal respect for clients and collegiality with peers have earned him a sterling reputation in the legal community in Middle Tennessee. In 2017, the Nashville School of Law in Tennessee invited Michael Smallbone to serve as an adjunct professor, and he has been teaching the immigration law course there since then.

Before practicing law, Michael Smallbone worked as the Vice President of Premiere Speakers Bureau. His prior work experience has brought him to many different countries and cultures. He had previously worked and lived in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou in China for several years.

Michael Smallbone has lived in Tennessee for more than 30 years. He and his wife and four lovely children are enjoying the unique charm of the dynamic yet peaceful country music capital. Besides being an attorney, Michael Smallbone is also a talent agent, professional drummer and ski enthusiast.
